Bye readers
It's been a long and fun semester
Dear readers, although I have enjoy writing these blogs to you for my marketing class, I am sorry to announce that this is my last blog. It is the last one for my class, but I might use this platform to update you on any chance happening in my life. This semester was really stressful to me and I had a hard time keeping up with my homework. While writing this blog, I was focus on the content but I also had to find ways to entertain you and make my blogs attractive. My marketing class had a lot of presentation and the teacher always reminded us to engage with the audience. I tried my best to apply it but having videos, pictures or funny jokes just to entertain you. In this blog, I would reflect about the lessons I have learned from writing the last four blogs and how to relate them to my marketing class' objectives and outcomes.
- To examine and convey basic and emerging marketing concept and terminologies
Throughout my blogs, I have used marketing terminologies and I used examples to explain them so people who do not know about marketing can still understand them. I was taking class as I was writing this so most of the words were also new to me. This was a challenging part for me because I had to make sure that I was able to understand myself the concepts I was using.
- To study and understand the marketing mix, target market, consumer behavior, service marketing, social media marketing and the strategic and financial implications of marketing decision on the other functional areas of business.
In all my blogs, I focus specifically on the marketing mix, but I made sure to include other terminologies. My first blog was about about a specific target market: the African market. I choose to focus on target market because I believe it is an important aspect of marketing. You have to know what is the public you are planning to target so you can have a better marketing strategy. My other blogs especially the one on Black Panther talks about the importance of social media when it comes to marketing.
- To have the opportunity to put marketing into action via team and individual projects, research, reports and presentations
I had the opportunity during class to put marketing into action by doing a Dodge ball tournament. The teacher made up teams made of up to five students. The exercise was really challenging, but I learned the importance of having great communication and verbal skills. As a group we had to learn how to effectively advertise the event in order to attract students. In addition to the event, we had to do different presentations in class (a TedTalk, a marketing new and an ad). Those presentations were challenging because I had to make sure that the rest of the class was focus on what I was saying.
- Use written and oral skills to persuade a target audience
For the Dodge ball tournament, it was necessary for me to convince students during Alliot Tabling in order for them to come and play with us. The teach really helped us with different activities in class in order to prepare us to be able to express ourselves verbally and on a piece of paper.
- Participate and communicate as an effective member of a team
Many of the projects in my marketing class was done within a group. I learned how to communicate with my teammates by giving everyone the possibility to talk. I also took theses skills outside of my marketing class and I applied in the clubs and organizations I work with on campus. Great communication skills can make the job easier because everyone will be able to know what they are supposed to do.
I would like to thank you my readers for being supportive and I will recommend you to go back and read my previous blogs so you can have a better understanding of this last one.
